Painter Josef Jira

This is the only existing coherent documentary about one of the most prominent, best loved and also the most controversial figures of the Czech Art scene. The document captures the artist at the beginning of the nineties when Jira returned to the farm
near Mala Skala. A fascinating testimony of a sensitive artist, his views on the meaning of art, landscape, people and their faith. With his every word we sense his experience that is anchored in a landscape, his ability to see life in all its shades
and its surprising context.
